What is a primary care physician?

A primary care physician, or PCP, is a physician/medical doctor who provides both the first contact for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions, not limited by cause, organ system, or diagnosis.

What is an internal medicine doctor?

An internal medicine doctor, aka an internist, focuses on adult medicine and have had special study and training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. Internal medicine doctor training ranges from at least three of their seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults. Internal medicine doctors are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor", because they are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. Do not mistake mistake an internal medicine doctor with an "interns", who are doctors in their first year of residency training.

My private practice is equipped to take care of basic diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of common illnesses and medical conditions. Services such as lab tests and electrocardiograms are provided onsite. More complex diagnostic procedures are usually obtained by referral to specialists.
